Modern Barnhouse Airbnb Offers Panoramic New Zealand Views
Behind the Design
With panoramic views of the extraordinary landscape, The Beech House is truly a testament to the beauty of New Zealand architecture.
A neutral colour palette permeates much of this modern barnhouse, reinforcing the intention of being both a timeless and restorative Airbnb escape.

Located in Te Anau on the edge of Fiordland National Park, the property has been afforded uninterrupted lake and mountain views.
The challenge was designing this home to take complete advantage of the scenery. This inspired the extended length to accommodate windows facing in every direction, ensuring you can experience the environment no matter which room you enter.
The project ingeniously achieves a balance of contrast and cohesion to emphasise its unique appeal.
You’ll notice the kitchen bursts with bright whites and timber features, while the laundry adopts olive hues as an unexpected change.
Both find unity by embracing brushed copper as their focal points, with the Elysian Kitchen Mixer and its commercial counterpart being selected for their function and form.
Deep greens reemerge in the ensuite and powder room, painting these spaces in a dark, moody persona.
This makes for a comforting place to hide away when it comes time for respite, while luminous fixtures add a touch of luxury.
The main bathroom fosters an alternative ambience, instead incorporating elements of modern-coastal design.
Brushed brass shimmers like golden sand, inviting warmth amongst muted grey foundations. Here, simplicity is key — a minimalist palette and straightforward shapes are certain to surpass fleeting trends.
The home’s most magnificent vantage points can be found in the bath and master bedroom — both places that intend to help you unwind.
Almost too extraordinary to be a reality, you can soak in the concrete bath and the scenery behind it. Our floor-mounted bath filler is an elegant yet practical accompaniment to the entire experience.
The expansive windows of the bedroom immerse you in nature’s joys, acting as an unbeatable frame to the art of waking up to the sunrise.
